I walked into this Art Supply store wanting to purchase water color supplies - I've been doing a lot of reading on the subject and was please that the owner of this store took the time to talk with me about water color papers, brushes, etc in the use of water colors. It was great and I did buy brushes, paper supplies and will in the near future stop in again and buy more items - Nice store and stocked with quite alot of various art supplies.

When my artistic bug starts biting I head over to the good ol carlson arts. Its a nice local, small friendly place to get your art supplies and even some great advice.I have been going to Carlsons since I was a college girl for all my prisma markers! I never really learned how to draw even after the countless drawing classes and thousands and thousands of dollars spent at IADT but I still wanted to buy all the supplies and pretend I was sketching. I recently have beenn stopping by to pick up some much needed screen printing supplies. If your wondering, yes I have taken up drawing again. Candy and I had a great day of drawing and were very proud of ourselves but since then the drawing has gone down hill again. That doesnt discourage me though I will still be stopping by Carlsons soon.Actually maybe tomorrow...see ya there??? maybe!

My daughter wanted an easel and paints for Christmas. She is 10 yrs old so I wanted something better than the usual kids stuff. The owner spent so much time explaining the items and helping me get the best bang for my buck. He gave me some pointers to give her about taking care of the new brush set I was purchasing and sold me a much better easel than I was originally looking at...which was about $20 cheaper!! I am heading back there today to get the first piece of artwork framed! Great litte store with lots of knowledge of the products and helpful staff!!

A pretty solid local art shop.  You can find all sorts of art supplies; markers, paper, easels, et cetera.  If you need something for your kid's art project, you should probably stop here.  It is also right next to the Dairy Queen, so you can reward yourself with a treat afterwards. The service here is very good.  The staff is super helpful.  You can tell them what you think you need and what you need it for and they will offer suggestions and tips for use.Be aware, this is a small shop and the prices do not rival Walmart.

I have had numerous pieces of art framed here. They always do a fantastic job. I won't risk going anywhere else.

Yet again, excellent service. Allowed me to take an already assembled floor model of a drafting chair since I needed it right away, after offering me an unassembled model new in the box. No questions asked. Great service, friendly, and actually beat Amazon's price.

Sold! This is a teeny little store -- they have a considerably bigger one in Wheaton -- jam-packed with framing and art supplies. We got an awesome Haunted Mansion (Disney World version) poster back in February. It's been sitting in our living room for four months, which is just sad. We'd looked at a few options but it's an odd size -- 20 x 28, and most poster frames are 18 x 24 or 22 x 28. Finally I said enough already, I'm going to pick up the build-your-own frame thingies and have Carlson cut me a back and glass for it. Cheaper than custom framing and I knew the size would be right. So I wander into Carlson, pick out my build-your-own pieces and mention to the guy behind the counter that I had this weird size poster. He says they used to make frames in that size but that it's very uncommon now. And then he gets that glint in his eye, comes over and rummages around the slightly dusty frames, and pulls out ... two 20 x 28 options! For less than what I would've paid for the build-your-own (even though they were on sale). I chose the silver one, he knocked a few more bucks off because it had been sitting there awhile, and I thanked my lucky stars for Carlson. That's it, no more big-box craft store framing for me -- I'm shopping local.P.S. The poster looks great.
